Confirmation lessons are twice a month starting in the fall and running all the way through May. These sessions will last from 6:30pm-8:00pm on Wednesday nights. This is a two year long program, and typically starts in 7th grade; however, it is never too late to receive the sacrament!
If your child will be receiving Confirmation this year, there are some additional meeting times and events, including:
Four Sunday Night Sessions in which both the child and their sponsor (parents can be substitutes if unavailable) will attend together. These are spread out throughout the year. These will be on Nov. 22, Jan. 10, Feb. 28, and April 11 from 7-8PM at St. Odilia.
Confirmation classes are provided as part of the religion classes during school. Although the formation is provided in school, parents/guardians must complete the registration form for the child to receive the sacrament. In addition to in-school religion classes, there are additional events the child is required to attend:
Confirmation Orientation on September 27, 2026 at 7PM.
Four Sunday Night Sessions in which both the child and their sponsor (parents/guardians can be substitutes if sponsors are unavailable) will attend together. These are spread out throughout the year. These will be on Nov. 22, Jan. 10, Feb. 28, and April 11 from 7-8PM at St. Odilia.
The Confirmation Mass for St. Odilia School students and Faith Formation students in their second year of confirmation preparation will be on June 5, 2027 at 10AM at the Cathedral of St. Paul. It usually lasts at least two hours.
My child is missing a sacrament such as Baptism or First Communion. What should I do?
We are here to help your child on their faith journey, and we are willing to help them receive any missing sacraments! Please reach out to Isabel Sutter at [email protected] for more information.
Other than attendance, what other requirements are there?
Depending on your child's grade, they will have some of the following requirements
8 Hours of Volunteer Service
4 hours of Liturgical Service
Attendance of one Spark Night
Letter to the Pastor (8th+)
My child plays a sport/has extracurriculars that may conflict with meetings and events. What should we do?
We understand that life is extremely busy, and we are committed to working with your family. If you are in Faith Formation, your child can miss a total of three lessons, after which they will need to complete a make up opportunity. We also have additional options for retreats and make up options for Sunday sessions.
