To encourage and assist a graduating high school senior who may have limited financial resources and/or is disadvantaged by circumstances that negatively impact their educational opportunities, yet who desires to pursue college or vocational education.
Scholarship Amount $1,000
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be a graduating high school senior.
Be a member of St. Odilia Catholic Church.
Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher with satisfactory academic performance.
Provide proof of acceptance at a post-secondary institution (college or vocational school).
Demonstrate a strong interest in social justice causes, including public service and/or volunteer activities.
Plan to pursue higher education in Healthcare, Education, Criminal Justice, Public Policy, Environmental Studies, and/or Immigration Issues.
Be a first-generation post-secondary student (if applicable, please indicate).
Have limited financial resources (submit supporting information, including total cost of tuition, available financial aid, and student financial responsibility).
Submit two letters of recommendation from faculty members at the student’s high school.
Provide a personal statement(300-400 words) detailing:
Financial need
Aspirations and future goals
Family background
Areas of interest, achievements, and hobbies
